Martye Harris is the Mayor of Auburntown and has proudly served the community for the past 2 years. Since being elected, she has remained committed to supporting local growth, representing the town with dedication, and working in the best interest of its residents. Her leadership reflects a strong focus on community values, service, and helping Auburntown continue to move forward.

Auburntown, Tennessee is a small, historic community in northwestern Cannon County, known for its roots as Poplar Stand in the early 1800s and later renamed after Auburn, New York. With a population of 272 as of 2020, it spans just over half a square mile and reflects a close‑knit rural character surrounded by rolling hills and creek valleys. The town’s early life centered around churches, blacksmiths, and small merchants, and it later became officially incorporated in 1949. Today, Auburntown remains a quiet, heritage-rich town that preserves its past through local institutions like the Auburntown Historical Society.
The Auburntown City Council meets on the first Tuesday of every month at 6:30 PM at 73 East Main Street, Auburntown, TN 37016.
